The ER 50-1 is a truly portable EMI receiver specifically engineered by the MessTec company to measure according to CISPR-16 and DIN/VDE 0876 Part 1. This receiver is classed as compliant. Operation can be from the front panel and is menu driven from a graphic LCD display and shows the signal acquisition on an amplitude vs frequency domain. A series of five soft keys and one tuning wheel allow the end user to select the appropriate attenuator, IF Bw and main start/stop frequency settings. Another feature is the fixed level tracking oscillator output from 9kHz to 3GHz. The Rx has a built-in loudspeaker for signal identification and audio demodulators for AM, SSB and narrowband FM. LED indication of overload is provided. The receiver may also be controlled via our software, which would involve choosing (Item 124). The bus control is via RS-232. It sees extensive use in shielding work with its battery portability.
