EMCO Model 6404 Helmholtz coil system has 2 x 1.2 metre diameter coils in Helmholtz configuration and may be used as a Magnetic Field Immunity Test System or a low frequency magnetic field calibrator. A magnetic field is produced by the coil that is essentially homogenous throughout the volume of a one-third metre cube in it’s centre. The coils are supported by a non-metallic, non-magnetic framework. At the centre of the assembly base, a rotatable, height-adjustable pedestal is capable of holding test articles weighing up to 34kg (75 pounds). The Coil has been calibrated at the NPL in terms of uT per ampere at 50Hz. A graph below indicates the sort of mag fields achievable when driven by our Techron Amp (item 400) with the maximum 3.1vrms drive to the amp. Device normally arrives dismantled with a bespoke box containing all delrin assembly rods & screws. Included also is the coil feed cable with current monitoring resistor on the base.
