This is a 2ft square ribbed aluminum plate which can be attached to the RVR main box with captivated screws. The calibration figures in the handbook refer to the antenna with a “counterpoise” or groundplane connected. Some forms of testing require the counterpoise to be connected. Relative measurements can be made without it.
