An extended version of the portable biconical elements is available for the EMCO 3108 “high field” (Item 341) and the EMCO 3109 “ high power”(Item 342) bicons. These folding elements are twice as long as the standard elements. This extra length helps to generate a higher field for the same power input at the low frequency end of operation or a reduction of 25% power can be realised for the same field. This could save considerably on amplifier costs. This item is an option for the two previous items. Photo to right shows the standard bicon sitting under the extended model. Do consider the necessary extra height in the form of mounting. A tripod with an extender element from section 800. Typically (Items 809 or 810) as well as the tripod or stand.
