The calibrated new balun 9117 is used with the very small 9139 cones that permit operation up to 1.2GHz (length 330mm). This now emulates the performance of the UBA 9116 balun, hence the title above. With a gain maximum at 280MHz it corresponds roughly to a tuned dipole. As a calibration device it will have a fixed phase centre and be omni-directional in the vertical plane. The calibration figures supplied are free field. When used as a calibration device a 10dB pad is recommended to prevent mismatch.
