A linear polarized microwave broadband antenna. The biconical elements are mounted on the usual 22mm diameter tubular balun terminated with a female precision “N” connector. Length from tip to tip of the bicon elements is 140mm & with a cage diameter of just 49mm. Overall balun length is 56cm. Weight complete is 750gm. Balun symmetry less than 0.2dB. Isotropic gain typically –1.5 to +1.5dBi. Antenna factor ranges from 43—53dB/m. Designed for microwave investigation work. Can be fed with a maximum of 10 Watts input power. A typical application of the SBA 9112 would be as a highly linear broadband nearfield probe by virtue of its small size. The handbook gives extensive detail as to the field pattern as the frequency rises.
The device has been used extensively within anechoic chambers on work to do with the mobile phone field pattern characterization.
