This amplifier has an integral LF signal source module with an analogue frequency dial which can be varied from 45Hz to 15kHz. It's essentially a power frequency source simulation. The distortion is less than 1%. A variable output control feeds the main amplifier which in turn produces an output from 0-125Vrms or switched to give 0-250Vrms. A high degree of negative feedback between the M.O./P.A. keeps the wave distortion to a minimum. The output can tolerate a reactive load with a PF of between 0.7-1 and with changes from no load to full load within seconds. Thus the amplifier is ideal for testing such devices as motors; rectifiers; switching relays; chokes; capacitors; fluorescent lamps; synchronisers and the general testing of most magnetic circuits. General applications: Whenever devices have to be run from a simulated AC supply employing both frequency shift and changes in voltage (surge) such as MIL-STD-704B then this amplifier has an application.
