EMC Hire Ltd is recruiting for a competent & motivated Electrical / RF Engineer to join our team, based in Shefford, Bedfordshire.

EMC Hire provides equipment for hire to clients across the UK & Europe, as well as destinations further afield. We have been offering specialist RF and EMC test equipment for hire since was first created in 1972, and have since become the largest UK hire company in its field.

The company is currently going through a major Business Improvement Programme which will modernise & uplift the way in which we work & deliver this service; this provides an exciting opportunity, for the right candidate, to help shape both this role and the future of the company.

Job Description:

The Electrical / RF Engineer will assist the Technical Manager in conducting EMC Hire’s validation, repair & calibration procedures to ensure equipment is suitable for hire. This will involve undertaking repairs & calibrating equipment within your level of competence whilst considering priority, time & cost, as well as potential warranty, insurance & safety implications.

You will assist the Technical Manager in managing the status and condition of both internal equipment and items for hire to ensure it is maintained, safe and suitable for use. You may also be responsible for planning and overseeing validation activities of other staff members, as well as mentoring or providing training to inexperienced personnel. For an enthusiastic candidate, this role also offers the potential to conduct off-site testing on behalf of our customers and/or partner organisations.

In addition, you will assist the sales & administration departments by acting as a technical point of contact for customers and representing EMC Hire at trade shows, exhibitions and demonstrations if requested.

Personal Profile:

Candidates shall have a keen attention to detail, the ability to work unsupervised, and have strong prioritisation & organisation skills. Prior Electrical and RF Engineering experience is essential to this role, and it is expected that the candidate will have knowledge & experience of EMC test equipment and test standards. Previous EMC test laboratory experience would also be beneficial.
