Defence Standard 59-411 is the UK MODs EMC Standard which supersedes Defence Standard 59-41. This standard covers all aspects of testing based on the envisaged environment which the system will be utilised within, categorised into ‘classes’. These ‘classes’ relate to the distance in which the system can be co-located with other electrical equipment or antennae with no or limited degradation.
Defence Standard 61-5 defines the characteristics for all military (ground) platform DC power distribution systems, platform and terminal equipment within the military, bespoke, military off the shelf (MOTS) and commercial off the shelf (COTS) vehicular environment, covering supply sources with a nominal voltage of 12 V and 24 V, supplying up to 1000A.
Other international military standards include:
- Mil Std 461
- Mil Std 1275
- AECTP 500 Series
