EMC Hire Ltd is continually going through Business Improvement Programmes to ensure the service to the user is first class in its field; this provides an exciting opportunity, for the right candidate, to help shape both this role and the future of the company.

We are recruiting for a competent and motivated Engineer to join our team, based in Shefford, Bedfordshire. The position will support both the company’s and our client’s technical requirements, ranging from conducting in-house calibrations and generating technical procedures to assisting clients with technical advice via telephone, web-based applications and during on-site client visits, to assist with equipment functionality, software set-up and training.

The role also offers the potential to conduct off-site testing on behalf of our customers and/or partner organisation (WEMEC),

A good understanding of EMC standards would be advantageous and an ability to pick up fresh standards and understand them quickly is essential. Other duties include conducting the company’s validation, repair & calibration procedures to ensure equipment is suitable for hire and meets all necessary requirements. We cover all industry sectors including but not limited to Defence, Automotive, Aerospace and Commercial.

For an enthusiastic candidate, there is also the opportunity to grow the position into a supervisor role including the Technical Manager position.

Personal Profile:

Candidates shall have a keen attention to detail, the ability to work unsupervised (after an initial period of full training), and have strong prioritisation & organisation skills. Prior EMC and RF Engineering experience is essential to this role, and it is expected that the candidate will have knowledge & experience of EMC test equipment and test standards. 10 years EMC experience is preferred but not essential.
