This CDN is for use with shielded cables of 1 to 6 cores and unshielded cables of 1, 2, 3 and 6 cores. It differs from item 550 in that it is for non computerized operation. It is connected up in an identical way to the other RML CDNs but it has an extra BNC o/p connector which can be connected to a high impedance DC voltmeter. The reading actually indicates the test voltage being applied to the line. A typical use would be in a developing role or fault curing situation. Here the end user would connect up the device in circuit at a specific frequency known to fail the EUT. The signal level then applied to the circuit can be directly controlled on the sig gen output whilst observing the actual level on the circuit. i.e. 10 or 3 volts. The rest of the spec is the same as item 550 (S46ST6). Comes supplied with three alternative connecting cable sets: One 50Ω BNC for network S1, one user-configurable as S2- S6, and one user-configurable as M1- M3, or offering replacements for AF2, AF3, AF6, T2, T3 and T6. Also supplied are the 46ZZ calibration adaptors with each CDN. The whole system is supplied with a ground plane complete with spring clips to grip the CDN and an appropriate earth lead.
