The EMCO 399054 Hand-Held Turntable Controller is a manual control unit designed for direct operation of TT turntable motor systems. Supplied with a 3-metre connecting lead, it plugs directly into the turntable motor unit and provides simple CW, STOP, and CCW control functions for precise manual positioning.

This controller is often chosen as an alternative to the GPIB-enabled 2090 Controller (Item 824), particularly for open-area test sites where operator proximity to the turntable is acceptable. It can also be used alongside the electronic controller, offering a convenient manual reference when required. Its primary application is in azimuth calibration of the turntable, using the 2090 controller’s readout for verification. When a turntable is supplied fully pre-calibrated, the hand-held controller is typically not required, but it remains a useful tool for on-site adjustments and functional checks.
