EMCO Model 6404 Helmholtz coil system has 2 x 1.2 metre diameter coils in Helmholtz configuration and may be used as a Magnetic Field Immunity Test System or a low frequency magnetic field calibrator. A magnetic field is produced by the coil that is essentially homogenous throughout the volume of a one-third metre cube in it’s centre. The coils are supported by a non-metallic, non-magnetic framework. At the centre of the assembly base, a rotatable, height-adjustable pedestal is capable of holding test articles weighing up to 34kg (75 pounds). The Coil has been calibrated at the NPL in terms of uT per ampere at 50Hz. With the maximum 3.1vrms drive to the amp. Included also is the coil feed cable with current monitoring resistor on the base.
