The EMCO 7405 handheld probe set, with Pre-Amplifier, is a set of three magnetic field and two electric field probes. The EMC sniffer probe set is designed for detecting and locating sources of electromagnetic interference (EMI) on printed circuit boards, cables, and electronic assemblies. It is used in conjunction with a spectrum analyser or oscilloscope to identify radiated emissions during development and troubleshooting.

The probe set enables close-proximity scanning to pinpoint emission “hot spots” and assess noise coupling paths. It is typically supplied as part of a probe set that may include multiple loop sizes for magnetic field (H-field) detection and/or a stub probe for electric field (E-field) detection.

Where would this be used? The EMCO 7405 handheld probe set, with Pre-Amplifier, is predominantly used for EMC pre-compliance testing, design debugging, and EMI troubleshooting in laboratory and R&D environments.
