EMC Facility Overview
EMC Hire offers a bespoke EMC laboratory, configured to allow the use of EMC Hires extensive range of test products and test systems. The laboratory is available to hire Monday to Friday 8:00 - 16:00 for both half-day and full-day bookings. If you have any queries, please contact us here.
The EMC laboratory provides the ideal perfect space to perform product development, pre-compliance or even compliance measurements, particularly if you are pursuing self-certification route of a CE or UKCA mark.
At EMC Hire, we understand the importance of flexibility for our customers. Our laboratory is highly versatile and enables rapid changes to test methods, ensures efficiency and quick and easy access to EMC Hire test products and test systems.
To enhance thise flexibility, EMC Hire customers can choose to self-test with the assurance that support is readily available, or have a test engineer by their side throughout the process to offer assistance and provide training on how to use the equipment.
In addition to EMC Hire’s onsite engineers, EMC Technical Specialists from WEMEC Ltd, our partner company, are also available for further support or assistance in problem resolution.
Accreditation
The EMC Hire Test Facility is a highly versatile facility, capable of performing multiple different tests to a variety of standards and directives. All test equipment is calibrated, traceable and uncertainty budgets are available upon request.
The test facility layout allows the user to have access to all test method types (Emissions / Susceptibility / Transient) in the same area, without the need to relocate the equipment under test, minimising delays.
EMC Hire Ltd is ISO 9001 accredited, and compliance measurements can be made if testing to CE requirements. If testing requires ISO 17025 accreditation, pre-compliance measurements can be performed, after which EMC Hire can identify and, if required, manage final testing using its well-established relationships with UK Test Houses. This approach allows us to offer cost effective EMC test facilities.
The EMC laboratory has the following capabilities:
- Ground plane 3 m x 1 m, meeting the requirements of Def Stan 59-411, AECTP 500/250, Mil Std 461, CISPR 16, CISPR 25, CISPR 32, ISO 7637-2 / 16750-2 and ISO 11452
- GTEM for Radiated Emissions and Immunity in accordance with EN 61000-4-20 with a uniform area to measure devices up to 40cm3.
- Radiated Immunity: 10 kHz – 18 GHz
- Radiated Emissions: 20 Hz –18 GHz, with appropiate corrections factors for Open Area Test Site (OATS) for 3m and 10m and 1m Semi-anechoic Chamber (SAC)
- RF path switching system for ease of testing for conducted and radiated immunity testing
- Air lines for cooling and actuation
- 19" Test Rack
- EMC hardened camera system allowing montioring and capture of events
- Soldering Station
- Well stocked tool kit, consisting of all commonly required tools, along with wire, crimps, earth braid etc.
- Large open area to accommodate support equipment
- Connectivity to Wi-Fi
